Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Hat and Home Spinnaker Tower Abseil for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support!
We’re Parkinson’s UK. The charity that’s here to support every Parkinson’s journey, every step of the way. Wherever you’re from, whatever you need.
We don’t wait for change, we make it happen. We believe that together we’ll find a cure. But that’s not all we’re working for. We campaign for better health and care, fund research into groundbreaking new treatments, and run life-changing support services.
Families, volunteers, campaigners, fundraisers, scientists, health and care workers. We’re a powerful community united by one mission: improving life with Parkinson’s.
My updates
Why? Just why?!
Thursday 23rd Apr I’m doing this for Ben, my brother-in-law. I remember the day we found out Ben had Parkinson’s; it was a few days before lockdown and we were all together for a big family celebration and hearing Ben’s news felt like a cruel juxtaposition.Watching how Parkinson’s impacts him and family makes me want to take action. Fundraising today may bring a cure for the future.
I’m OK with heights but it’s a different fear when you’re just hanging from a rope! The event comes two weeks before my 50th birthday - another reason to take part and do something out of my comfort zone.
Thanks for any donation you can make, it is very much appreciated xx
