My Manchester Marathon for Parkinson’s

Thursday 12th Feb
I’ve decided to sign up for the Manchester Marathon, not just to push myself but to doing something meaningful with a close friend in mind.

Their partner was diagnosed with Parkinson’s last year and getting an insight into how it affects the individual and people around them is why I want to support the research by raising funds and awareness.

I’m also running because this friend gave me my first real opportunity at work, taught me skills and life lessons that I’ve taken into new chapters of my life as well as allowing me to build belief in myself, in work and every day life. So this feels like a small way of giving something back by taking on a challenge that can hopefully help make a difference.
