Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Parkinson’s UK,
I have chosen to run for Parkinson’s as this charity is close to our family and holds a special place in my heart as I sadly lost my Nana in December 2022.
My Nana has and always will inspire me and I know through out my training I will be thinking about how she still continues to inspire me.
Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurological disorder primarily affecting movement. It's characterised by a loss of dopamine-producing nerve cells in the brain, leading to symptoms like tremors, slowness of movement, and rigidity. While there's no cure, various treatments can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
Parkinson's UK's mission is to improve the lives of everyone affected by Parkinson's, with a focus on finding a cure, helping people live as well as possible, and ensuring everyone understands the real impact of the condition. This mission is achieved through research funding, information and support, and campaigning for better health and care.
Please help by sponsoring my challenge. All money raised will help fund breakthroughs and help support the Parkinson's community.
Thank you to my sponsors
