London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Parkinson’s UK was my first choice of charities to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon. I am running the Half Marathon in honor of my Grandfather, who we unfortunately lost to Parkinson’s in April of 2023. My Grandfather was an incredibly inspiring man who never gave up or took no for an answer in good times and bad, he always put his family first and was and continues to be a support to me. He never made me feel like there was something I couldn't do, he always encouraged me to chase after my dreams and to believe in myself.

Although a big part of his life was affected by the debilitating illness that Parkinson’s is, he fought extremely hard to work for as long as he could, travel and spend a lot of time with his family and friends, especially making them laugh with his great sense of humor.

There is currently no cure for Parkinson’s, but by donating to charities like Parkinson’s UK, the closer to a cure we will get, helping an infinite number of people and their families. Parkinson’s UK researches a variety of possible treatments and are there to support people who require it no questions asked. Every hour that passes, two more people get diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Any money donated to this deserving cause is greatly appreciated, it will make the world of difference to anyone suffering with this awful debilitating illness as well as to their support systems.
