Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
My mum had Parkinson's disease, and as it progressed during 2025, she spent most of the year in hospital. The disease robbed her of the ability to speak and communicate, and she passed away on 4th January 2026.
Since the start of 2025, I've lost 6 stone in weight, and have rediscovered a love of running which I've not seriously done for 30 years. I am now able to tackle longer runs than a Parkrun!
I figured that I could use my new found fitness to raise some money for Parkinson's UK. I'm running the Bournemouth Supersonic 10K on 11th October 2026 in memory of mum and to help other people with this disease.
Thank you for donating.
