If you find yourself here...
...then thank you. It's undoubtedly because you clicked through a fundraising link that I shared with you.
On 19 October 2025, I’m taking part in the Great South Run to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK. I'm doing so in honour of my dad who has the condition.
I would love it if you could donate.
Knowing that my friends and family have supported such a brilliant cause will give me a spring in my step as I slog 10 miles along Portsmouth seafront.
All money raised will help fund breakthroughs and help support the Parkinson's community.
Thank you. Grace x

Why all of this is so important to me
Sunday 3rd Aug
In Spring 2020, my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's. There are many things people plan for their retirement, but a progressive neurological condition is not on anyone's list.
There is nothing nice about it. No description that could do justice to the suffering and pain it has caused my father, and my mother supporting him.
But the bond between my dad and me is stronger than the disease. And running this race is in his honour.
The Great South Run takes place along the seafront in Portsmouth, the city where my dad grew up. When my brother and I were little, it was my dad who was running the race and encouraging us to take part in the junior version.
Now I will take on the challenge of running 10 miles (16km). And I'm looking forward to a route that takes in the sites and scenes of many happy childhood memories in the city.
Parkinson's is a cruel condition. But with the right information and support, people can manage it. In fundraising, I want to make sure Parkinson's UK researchers can find new and better treatments faster. And ultimately find a cure as quickly as possible.
