Pedal Trossachs 2026

.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I'm taking part in Pedal Trossachs for Parkinson’s UK and would appreciate your support!

Please help by sponsoring my cycling challenge. All the money raised will go towards ground-breaking research and life-changing support for the Parkinson's community.

I havent been on my bike since my epic 1800km  cycle to Barcelona to the World Parkinson Congress in 2023.  However, as recently walking has become more difficult I wondered whether I should get back on my bike to be able to get out into the countryside again.  I was a bit cautious as my balance isn't as good as it was but after a few tentative loops of the local car park supervised by Simon, I made a bid for freedom and cycled 24km one evening!  I think I am ready to take on  this 50 mile challenge, which is the same length as one of my shorter days on the Barcelona trip.  I have a few weeks to build up the distance before the ride at the end of August.  Jessica has agreed to come along for support and encouragement.  Please help me to raise money for the excellent work that Parkinson's UK do.

Thank you

Gill

Concert in aid of Parkinsons

Monday 27th Jul
My dear friends Helen and Dick along with fellow musicians put on a concert in Malmesbury Abbey for me to raise funds for Parkinson’s.  Sadly I couldnt attend because I was at work but the donations at the end amounted to £257. So sorry to have missed music from my favourite period.
Thank you so much to 'Abbey Row Baroque' for your kindness.

Hot hilly cycle, upped the mileage to 46km today

Monday 27th Jul
Fortunately a breeze helped moderate the temperature but if you know the Stroud valleys the hills are pretty steep in places. Legs know it. Forgot to wear gloves so vibrations have had an impact.
Plus points were an ice cream stop in Horsley and a chance to visit Beaverston castle and Norman church. Driven though Beverston for 35 years but never stopped. Today i did, the church was an increadubly peaceful and cool pause on a hot ride.

Radio 4 appeal
