Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK…..

I’m taking part in “Walk for Parkinson’s 100 Mile Challenge” to help fund specialist care for people with Parkinson’s.

If you are reading this you will most likely know that Kim was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in January this year.

We had noticed some symptoms/changes which had been evident for a couple of years but it was our GP who suggested it may be PD in December, which was then confirmed in January by the Neurologist. Numerous  signs/symptoms that when collated gave the diagnosis….some of which we hadn’t considered.

There is no cure for Parkinson’s Disease. Treatment can slow it down and help control the symptoms.

So for me  “Walk a 100 Miles in May” seemed an appropriate fundraiser.

It will challenge me. My intention is to walk 3+ miles every day in May whilst still maintaining my present exercise routine of Dance Fit and Zumba classes.

Due to my own health issues if this proves too much I   will concentrate my energy on the walking and join classes when I can.

By donating today you will be helping Parkinson’s UK to fund research into treatments and provide life changing support services.

Quite an emotional start to the 100 Miles in May Challenge. 
Kim and I went out early so that he could join me for my first walk of the month. So proud of him- it was slow but he managed to do 2.9 miles which is awesome.

Great day to get my T-shirt out and canvas some more support. What a great response so far and I am truly grateful . Even had my nails done in Parkinson’s Uk colours!! 🩵💙
