Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m a 4th year Neuroscience student at University of Glasgow, and will be running the 2025 Edinburgh marathon with one of my course friends Murrin! I have a huge interest in neurodegenerative disorders, especially Parkinson’s disease, and unfortunately a close friends of mine’s family is affected by this horrible disorder.
Parkinson’s is the 2nd most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer’s, and although motor symptoms are the most well known symptom, many people suffering from Parkinson’s struggle mentally as well. I want to hopefully raise more awareness about Parkinson’s and help fund the amazing work done by researchers to try find a treatment.
