Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Hello! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! On the 12th April 2026 I’ll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects the brain, causing problems like tremors, slow movement and muscle stiffness along with many other horrific side effects. Approximately 166,000 people in the UK have been diagnosed with this illness and it’s said that 1 in 37 people are expected to be diagnosed in their lifetime.

After diagnosis It changes the lives of the person diagnosed and their loved ones aswell. Sadly there is no current cure, however charities like Parkinson’s UK fund vital research and provide life-changing support to those affected.

My connection to this cause began just after covid when my Uncle Stephen was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Since then my whole family has seen the way this illness can slowly change the person you love into someone unrecognisable. The thought of the daily strength, patience and resilience from the Parkinson’s nurses around him have inspired me to raise some money that could make a massive difference. 

Every step of my training and runs will be for my Uncle Stephen, my family, every Parkinson's carer and every person living with Parkinson’s.
