Walk for Parkinson's 100 mile challenge 2026

Why I'm fundraising for Parkinson's UK

I’m taking part in Walk for Parkinson’s 100 Mile Challenge to help fund specialist care for people with Parkinson’s.

In July 2019, my husband James was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson’s at just 38.

Since then, life has changed in ways we never expected, but at the same time, it hasn’t stopped. We’re a busy family, both working full time, raising our children and navigating everything that comes with Parkinson’s along the way.

Staying active has become such an important part of our journey. Not just physically, but mentally too. Movement really does make a difference with Parkinson’s, helping with symptoms, strength and overall mental wellbeing, especially on the tougher days.

I’m also doing this for my own mental health and fitness. Being the wife of someone living with Parkinson’s can take its toll and I’ve learnt how important it is to look after myself too, for me, our family annd our future.

That’s why I’m taking on this challenge for Parkinson's UK, to raise awareness, support others going through similar journeys, and contribute towards the incredible work being done to find better treatments and, hopefully one day, a cure.

James will be joining when he’s able and as a family we’re doing what we can, one step at a time.

Any support, donations or shares mean the world to us. Thank you.
