TCS London Marathon 2025

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the TCS 2025 London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support!

I am running in memory of my Dad, Richard Hembrough. Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at the age of 40. As a family (Tricia (Mum), brothers (myself, Giles and Oliver) and sister (Ellen)), and with a cocktail of drugs, we tried to ensure he led a full and happy life until he passed away at the age of 69 in 2014.  He was an inspiration to us all. Although daily activities were often a challenge for him, he was always smiling and making jokes (usually very corny). He never complained about what life had thrown at him. He loved going on holidays with Mum, and spending time with family. He especially loved entertaining his grandchildren. They all have very fond memories of Gramps.

Although it's been a decade now since we lost him, we still miss him everyday.

And finally, I have to mention my mum, Tricia, who tirelessly cared for Dad every day. She has been an active member of the Parkinson's Disease community in Bath and Bristol for almost four decades.

This year my aim is to run the marathon in under 3 hours!

Please help by sponsoring me with whatever you can. The money raised will help fund groundbreaking research and change the lives of the Parkinson's community.

Thank you to my sponsors
