Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support!
Please help by sponsoring my challenge. All money raised will help fund breakthroughs and help support the Parkinson's community.

Why we are running
Sunday 2nd MarParkinson’s UK estimate that in 2018 around 145,000 people in the UK were diagnosed with the condition - that’s around 1 in 350 adults and Parkinson’s diagnoses are set to rise by nearly a fifth by 2025. The increase is due to a growing and ageing population. Analysis suggests that 1 in every 37 people will be diagnosed with Parkinson’s in their lifetime.
It’s now more urgent than ever that we give people affected by Parkinson’s the support theyneed, drive better care, find new treatments and a cure.
As I’m sure most of you know, Mum has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease since 2006 (19 years). Although her medication has worked well over the years, it has been life changing for us all but more so my Mum. This horrible disease has never held her back and she very rarely lets it get her down.
My dad and I have set out to raise as much money as we can to help towards finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease - something that is long overdue.
We have both trained and run hard for your donation and I’m sure I will give Dad a run for his money on race day (he’s getting old now).
