Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 13 September 2026 to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK.
My mum was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2021 after struggling for couple of years, not knowing why she was slowing down, sadly a combination of her mobility, falling and dementia meant mum couldn't stay at home. It's a cruel disease that we still dont fully understand, research and support for families is so desperately needed. It's been one of the hardest things to watch mum slowly become so dependent on others for everyday life and so hard to trust people to take care for her. One day it would be great to say others don't need to experience the same.
