Great North Run 2026

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 13 September 2026 to raise vital funds for Parkinson’s UK.

Two years ago, my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at just 59. He means the absolute world to me and want to do one more thing to make him proud.

My dad gave up almost every weekend to drive me to badminton competitions, he was always cheering me on from the sidelines and always picked me up when I lost.

Even since those days, my dad still does loads for me, always supporting with the boys, supporting me through work, any hiccups he drops everything to support me whenever I need his help.

Seeing how Parkinson’s has impacted him has been hard, but it’s also made me determined to do something positive. I want to raise as much as I can to make sure people with Parkinson’s, and their families, get the care, advice and support they truly need. Running this race is my way of giving back, for my dad and for everyone living with this condition.

Please help by sponsoring me whatever you can. All the money raised will go to Parkinson’s UK nurses, to provide much-needed advice, support and information for people who are living with the condition.

Getting back in to running

Sunday 14th Sep
First week down and have successfully completed 4 x 5km and a 9km run, even bought myself some new running shoes!
It’s been easy to train whilst not at work, but back to work tomorrow so really need to stick to the consistency.

The aim is to complete 3 x 6km run, so let’s see how it goes!

Bit about me

Sunday 7th Sep
Daughter, wife and mother of 2 beautiful boys. I work full time and in between all of that play badminton and workout when I can.

Signing up to the Great North Run is certainly a challenge but something I’m determined to do as well as raise as much money as possible for Parkinson’s UK.
