Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I am running the Cardiff half marathon in October in support of Parkinson’s UK! My grandma was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2010 at 62 years old. Parkinson’s is a cruel, progressive disease with a complex range of debilitating symptoms, including loss of motor function, tremor, and eventual dementia. 1 person is diagnosed every 20 minutes in the UK. Watching a once incredibly active and independent woman slowly deteriorate has been so difficult for those who love her, and I am determined to give back to a charity dedicated to finding a cure. Parkinson’s UK has been a great support for my family and has given us a community of lovely people who share the same difficulties when facing this disease.Thank you to my sponsors
