Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Brighton Marathon 2026 for Parkinson's UK! I'll be running the Brighton Marathon in April 2026 as part of Team Parkinson's to help us all reach a future without Parkinson's, and to honour the memory of my Dad, who lived with Parkinson's from the age of 55. He battled the disease bravely for many years before passing 11 yrs ago. He is dearly missed but never forgotten.
Please help me by sponsoring whatever you can towards my target. All money raised will go directly to funding Parkinson's UK.
About Parkinson's UK
We’re close to major breakthroughs. Funding the right research into the most promising treatments, we get closer to a cure every day.
Until then, we're here for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. Fighting for fair treatment and better services.
People with Parkinson’s, scientists and supporters, fundraisers and families, carers and clinicians, all working side by side. Impatient for change, we’re taking a stand, speaking out, chipping in, and playing our part.
My updates
Job done. Target hit. Thanks everyone
Monday 13th Apr I did it. Painful but feeling very satisfied with how it went. Thanks to all of you, over 1k was raised for Parkinson's UK which is top notch. Thank you 🙏 Thoughts with my Dad today, got strangely emotional at the start. It's funny how it hits you sometimes. Hope he's up there looking down with a smile. Thoughts also with every family impacted by this nasty disease. Lets hope someone comes up with a cure or finds something that helps people to manage the symptoms and impacts more effectively very soon. Thanks again for all the support. It's massive, very touching and just brilliant really. Look after yourselves everyone and go well 👍🙏🙏. Share

Feeling it big time!
Wednesday 11th Mar Ran 18.5 monday night. It hurt alot. Really struggling at the end which felt stressful but hopefully it will feel better next time out. Not many weeks left now and a bit worried but am going again tonight, probably with a 10k run, to work off the stiffness from Monday. Onwards, and thank you all so much. Without the support i'd have probably pulled out to be honest, so serious thanks to you all . Take care everyone 🙏👊 Share
Keep on keeping on

Go for it Roy. What an effort, not once but twice. You're inspirational mate and I'm so proud of you. To think when we played football together I used to shout at you to run and work hard. You always did too by the way but now you're breaking barriers , running through pain and showing all the determination that you always had as a player. Only fitter!!! Your dad Keith would be so proud as I'm sure all the family are and your mates too. Dig in Dom. Tremendous effort, your old mate Dennis. Xx
