So after the the first full 30km+ week Last week it continues to head up, up and away.

Training has been going rather well so far. After a minor injury, along with a nasty little blister that I picked up three weeks ago and a complete week off any sort of exercise, I clocked a 5km PB of 23:05 (18 seconds faster than my last PB (not bad for the first 8 weeks work) during an intervals session.

This week sees the first proper long run of the season/training block. As the weather turns better and the days get (marginally) longer, it means that the walthamstow wetlands and lea river canal open up for running routes. Running through the wetleands on a Friday evening was one of my favourite parts of the training last year and it's a pleasure to get out into where the urban sprawl and post-industrial decay meets the natural landscape

On the cards this week is:
2x 30min easy runs
1x 90min Long Run
1x Intervals session of 6 x 4 minutes @ 4:20min/km-4:40min/km

This is all having to be structured around mine and others' birthdays so thankfully there will be an excuse to duck out of an after party or two

None of this would be possible without donations so please do drop me a couple of pennies if you can spare

I'll be back next week with a round up of those

First Runnings

Wednesday 19th Feb
Hello All

As some of you may have heard, I am running the Hackney Half again. Last year was the first time I'd attempted any sort of structured running since my university days and to say it was a sense of accomplishment was an understatement.

I thought I would give it another crack and see if I could go a bit faster but also do it for a good cause.

Last year our beloved uncle Paul passed away. He had been suffering from Parkinson's for a while and I wanted to do something in his memory that will hopefully make a difference.

So here I am asking if you will sponsor me in this attempt. I've never been a very good person in terms of putting myself out there to fundraise but I hope you can help

Thank you to my sponsors
