Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Those who know me (well) will know that I (still) dislike running; but, having completed the Edinburgh marathon in 2006 and 2016… my ten-yearly appointment is due.
For 2026 I will complete the Loch Ness Marathon on Sunday 27th September, running in support of Parkinson’s UK and my wonderful Aunt Lil.
I love Lil to bits. I’ve always looked up to her – classy to the core, and no more so than since having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s a few years ago. Lil’s been committed to supporting research initiatives, she’s been brave in response to some cruel setbacks, and she continues to be unwaveringly caring, kind, and cheerful (despite getting no respite from Uncle Jim’s jokes).
I’ll be proud to run in solidarity with Lil and to do what I can to support Parkinson’s UK and their fabulous work. I’ll be grateful to YOU for whatever you might be able to pledge in support.
Love to you and yours, Dave. x
