What is 100km between friends
I'm fundraising in memory of my mother-in-law who suffered with Parkinson's for a number of hard years.
My stepson, her grandson, is doing his very first ultra marathon in memory of his nan and he has asked me to run with him.
So here I am, coming out of retirement. again, to keep him company and provide entertainment on the route.
Yes - I can already feel the knees complaining in anticipation of every mile, but it will be worth every step if we can raise awareness and some money for this illness.
Parkinson's effects everyone in the family, not only those who suffer from it, but also the family and friends who watch as their loved one deteriorates.
