Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
In April, I’ll be taking on the London Marathon to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK.
One of my best friends, Frank, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a few years ago. Every step I take and every pound I raise is dedicated to him and his family.
Back in 2023, I was blown away by the support I received when 17 of my hero colleagues joined me in raising nearly £10,000 when running the half marathon in Liverpool for Parkinson’s UK. On top of that Merseyrail, our employer, has proudly supported Parkinson’s Wirral as Charity of the Year for the past two years.
But we can’t stop there.
Research, care, and support for people living with Parkinson’s and their families, are more important than ever. So, as I head into my 50th year, I’ve decided to take on another challenge.
The London Marathon. Let’s do this.
