Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

In April 2026, I will be running my very first full marathon—the TCS London Marathon—in support of Parkinson’s UK, a cause incredibly close to my heart.

My father, Brian, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2017. In January 2025, we sadly said goodbye to him. Despite the challenges he faced, he greeted every day with resilience and warmth. One of my fondest childhood memories is of us sitting together to watch the London Marathon each year. He found so much joy and inspiration in it, and I never imagined that one day I would be running it myself, in his honour.

Running has been part of my life since 2017. I’ve completed 13 half marathons, but this will be my first full marathon—a milestone that carries deep personal meaning.

This journey is shared by my girlfriend, Sharon. Her father also lived with Parkinson’s and sadly passed away in 2022. We will be running side by side to honour both our fathers and to support the wider Parkinson’s community.

Parkinson’s is the fastest‑growing neurological condition in the world. Parkinson’s UK funds groundbreaking research and provides vital support for those living with the condition and their families. Every donation helps bring us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.

Please consider donating whatever you can. Your support will not only honour Brian and Sharon’s father, but also bring hope to thousands of families affected by Parkinson’s. Sharing this page with friends and family would mean the world to us.

Together, we can make a difference. Thank you for being part of this journey. 💙

My updates

Week 5 of 16 training 💪

Sunday 8th Feb

Week 5 done and dusted, and I’m feeling good — no aches, no niggles, just steady progress. The plan starts to ramp up now with longer runs and a sharper tempo, so it’s about to get interesting.

The only real challenge at the moment is the weather. With all the rain, finding routes that aren’t flooded or completely boggy is becoming part of the workout itself. Still, miles are miles, and it all counts.

Week 4 of 16 training 💪

Friday 30th Jan
Week 4 of marathon training in the bag and everything’s starting to click. Legs feel good, rhythm feels steady, and I even managed to dodge the rain all week. The cold definitely showed up, but staying dry felt like a win. Happy with the consistency so far — onwards to week 5.

Week 2 Training🏃‍♂️

Sunday 18th Jan

After returning from Australia, I’ve just wrapped up my second week of training on home soil. I’ll be honest — the first few runs were a real shock to the system. The cold, the jet lag, the change of routine… it all made those early miles feel tougher than expected.

But as the week has gone on, things have started to click again. Each run has felt a little smoother, a little stronger, and it’s been great to feel my rhythm returning. Right now, I’m feeling positive, motivated, and genuinely excited about the progress ahead.

Thanks for sticking with me on this journey — your support means more than you know.

🏃🏻My First London Marathon Blog: Starting Strong (and a Long Way from home!)

Tuesday 6th Jan
Training for the London Marathon has officially begun — and in the most unexpected place. My very first training run took place on Saturday at Pirrama Parkrun in Australia, squeezed in between watching the Ashes cricket. Not quite the typical start to a marathon journey, but definitely a memorable one.

This challenge means a lot to me. I’m running in support of Parkinson’s UK, an organisation doing incredible work to support people living with Parkinson’s and to drive forward vital research. Every mile I run is for progress, for better treatments, and for the hope of a future without Parkinson’s.

The road ahead is long, and I know there will be tough days, but moments like that first run — jet‑lagged, excited, and fuelled by cricket and sunshine — remind me why I’m doing this. It’s about showing up, step by step, wherever I am in the world.

If you’re able to support my fundraising, thank you so much. Every donation, big or small, genuinely makes a difference.

More updates to come as the miles build. Onwards from Pirrama to London.

Let’s do this. 💙
