Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I’m running the London Marathon to raise money for Parkinson’s UK — a cause that’s deeply personal to me.
Parkinson’s isn’t just a condition that affects movement; it slowly reshapes every part of daily life. Simple things many of us take for granted — walking confidently, getting dressed, holding a cup, sleeping through the night — can become daily challenges. Alongside the physical impact, there’s a huge mental and emotional toll: anxiety, exhaustion, frustration, and the quiet grief of losing independence bit by bit.
I’ve seen this up close. My mum is living with Parkinson’s, and before her, my grandad also suffered from the disease. Watching someone you love navigate a condition that never switches off is heartbreaking. It affects not just the person diagnosed, but the whole family around them.
By running the marathon, I want to help fund vital research, better treatments, and support for those living with Parkinson’s today — and for future generations. Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a real difference.
