Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

I’m taking part in Walkies for Parkinson's to help fund specialist Parkinson’s care to thousands more people who urgently need it.

Thousands of us are uniting to help people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, get access to the support they need.

My dad was diagnosed with Parkinsons about four years ago and for those that know him and as you would expect, he is incredibly stoical about it.  The disease is progressing steadily but somehow he manages and is as independent as he can be.  He is well looked after by the Parkinson's nurses who have all the time in the world for him.

My updates

All done!

Friday 31st Oct
Yesterday the dogs and I finished our walk - just over 100 miles and there were some very unexpected adventures along the way which added to the fun 🤣
The important thing though is that we did what we set out to do and, thanks to you, have raised some money to help people like my dad who suffer with Parkinsons.  I hope that the efforts of Poppy, Brynn and I plus your kindness and generosity, I will go some way to finding a cure for this horrible and debilitating disease.  With love to friends and family from Chris and my two four-legged friends.

Making progress

Wednesday 22nd Oct
I had to slow down walkies a bit as due to a Brynn related incident (!) I sprained my ankle.  Anyway, it's a lot better now and we are back to our normal walking routine.

fair weather walker!

Friday 3rd Oct
I've been out for about 3.5 miles this morning and it's just starting to rain so we shall stay in for the rest of the day!

Ready to go!

Tuesday 30th Sep
Now that Brynn has recovered from his ear infection we are all ready for our next adventure tomorrow when we start our walk.  We aim to do about 4 miles a day as that's nice and steady for Poppy (she is getting on a bit now) and Brynn who is a teenager in human terms.  That means he sleeps and eats a lot.

Thank you

Saturday 23rd Aug
I've only just started this and thank you so much to friends for getting this off to a positive start.  The dogs think it's great!  More training yesterday i.e. a 3 mile walk and today they are resting - it's such a hard life for them 🤣
