I am running Manchester Half Marathon in aid of Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! This year I will be challenging myself to complete Manchester Half Marathon, to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK.
As someone who is just about able to run a 5k currently - this will be a big challenge for me!
Both my grandma and nana both unfortunately suffered from Parkinson’s disease and I saw the effect this had on their day to day life, function and overall health.
Also being a physiotherapist myself - I truly recognise the incredible work charities like Parkinson’s UK do to help promote activity, fund physiotherapists and research new therapies / treatments for those with Parkinson’s disease.
Parkinson’s disease currently affects approximately 10 million people worldwide, and is recognised as the fastest growing neurological disorder. Someone is diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in the UK every 20 minutes. Charities like Parkinson’s UK are vital in working towards a cure.
