2027 TCS London Marathon
My nanny was my favourite person.
She wasn't just special to me, she was the kind of person who left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She won the hearts of everyone with her kindness, her warmth and her unwavering love. Anyone who knew my nanny was touched by her. She had a beautiful way of making people feel seen, valued and cared for, and that is a gift I'll never forget.
Watching someone so full of life live with Parkinson's was heartbreaking. It's a cruel disease that slowly takes away so much, not only from the person living with it, but from everyone who loves them. Seeing my nanny face those challenges with such courage and dignity was both inspiring and incredibly painful.
Despite everything Parkinson's threw at her, she remained the loving, selfless and gentle woman we all adored. She never let the disease define her. I want people to remember the incredible woman she was, the love she gave so freely, and the countless lives she touched simply by being herself.
My grandad has never stopped doing what he can to make a difference. Every single year, he continues to raise money for Parkinson's in memory of my nanny. Even after everything they went through together, he has turned his love for her into something that helps others. His strength, kindness and determination inspire me every day, and it's because of him, as much as my nanny, that I wanted to take on 2027 TCS London Marathon
This is something we're doing together, for her, and for every family whose lives have been touched by Parkinson's.
If my nanny taught me anything, it was the power of kindness. If you are able to support this cause, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Together, we can honour her memory and help make a difference for everyone affected by Parkinson's.
