Charlotte Beckett is Raising money for Parkinson's UK
I’m taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support. As many of you will know this disease is close to my family's heart, as my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's a couple of years ago. It is difficult to watch someone close to you become weaker and more dependent. My mother is one of the lucky ones as she has a slow progressing condition and has the support of her family around her. There are many people living with this condition who are much more isolated. Around 166,000 people live with Parkinson's in the UK and it is on the rise. By 2050 the number of people with the disease worldwide will double to 25 million. Parkinson's UK offers practical and emotional support for those living with or caring for someone with Parkinson's which can be a very lonely and debilitating condition. It also provides funding for essential research into Parkinson's worldwide.
