Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Hi Friends, as most of you are aware Martin was diagnosed with Parkinson in September 2014.   Every sufferer of Parkinson has a different journey, we have been lucky but the illness is slowly taking its toll on everyday life.  As I have more time on my hands I am going to walk 600 miles before 12th December in aid of Parkinson's UK.  This may help me understand how Martin feels.  Every day Martin puts up with stiffness in his muscles and aches and pains, extreme tiredness at times during the day & takes him ages to get comfortable before he can fall asleep at night  It takes away freedom, unable to eat an hour before and a hour after tablets which he takes 4 times a day at 3 hour intervals . Often snoozing during the day, if he over does it or even has a big meal he sweats and feels sick  Parkinson's UK support everyone affected by this terrible illness and are also funding groundbreaking research into better treatment and a cure.  Sadly there is no cure at present. Please either join me on a walk or sponsor me to help people like Martin.

Day 10

Thursday 10th Oct
Travelled back to London after a delicious breakfast. 2 miles walked together and another mile or 2 at home.  Great couple of days away.

Day 9

Thursday 10th Oct
Martin woke up extremely tired today, luckily we can afford to stay in London another night as he would not been able to travel. We walked to a Austrlian run cafe/restaurant for a leisurely late breakfast, delicious. Stroll back then Martin rested most of the day whilst I, you guessed it walked to Brockwell Lido., 5 miles away. Kept Martin updated on my journey to prevent him getting too anxious. We went for an early evening Turkish meal & he went to bed on our return.

Day 8

Wednesday 9th Oct
Day 8 London bound to see Peter Kaye at O2. Brilliant day Martin managed to walk over 3 miles between Waterloo, River Taxi, lodgings & Venue. Staying for two nights . He’s absolutely exhausted this morning but can rest most of today. Hopefully have a meal out tonight in a local Turkish Restaurant. A very tired Baxter, after 16 miles on Monday is staying at his Auntie Jennifer’s for a rest. ❤️🐶

Day 7

Tuesday 8th Oct
One week on and still walking, although helping with the Soak Tide Ride at HISC, Saturday and Sunday so only little walking.  If only I could count all the dancing on Saturday night to the mighty Freddie Covell.  15 miles today with Sophie, Nick & Kate.  Thank you all for the love and support.

Day 2

Thursday 3rd Oct
Overwhelmed by all the love & support. Thank all so much. xx
