Great North Run 2024

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 8 September 2024 to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK.

I am running for my grandad who was diagnosed following a hospitalisation with pneumonia.

Please help by sponsoring me whatever you can. All the money raised will go to Parkinson’s UK nurses, to provide much-needed advice, support and information for people who are living with the condition.

Post GNR

Tuesday 24th Sep
Hi, thank you so much for donating! I am in utter shock at how generous people have been.

Unfortunately we have just lost our grandad 💔 but it means the money raised will only go towards another Parkinson’s patient requiring support.

Once again, thank you. I completed the GNR in a time of 2hrs 28mins.

Thank you!

I would just like to thank everyone who has donated.. I am now at the target of £350!! Anything extra is a bonus to go towards a charity who support individuals with Parkinson’s!

Why I’m running for Parkinson’s UK

Friday 6th Oct
I’m running for Parkinson’s UK as if anyone has ever spoken to me or met me, they’ll know my grandad is my favourite person.

Following a hospitalisation with pneumonia, grandad received a diagnosis of Parkinson’s. A once very independent man, who could do anything he set his mind to had limitations due to the condition.

Currently he’s on medication and receiving support from the Parkinson’s team as his current issue is how to manage his blood pressure - which is proving difficult as with all Parkinson’s patients they are not straight forward.

I’m not a runner by any means! I struggle to run around the field at the gym so hopefully you can support me in this mission to raise awareness of Parkinson’s and put a little bit of money into the pot of research that is so desperately needed! As no brain is alike.

Thank you very much for getting this far through and even if you could spare £1 it all goes towards the care and support needed

Thank you to my sponsors
