Great North Run 2026

Bryony takes on the GNR 2026

On Sunday 13th September 2026, I’ll be lacing up my running shoes and joining thousands of others for the Great North Run — a half marathon from Newcastle to South Shields. But I won’t just be running for the medal, I’ll be running for something far more meaningful: Parkinson’s UK, a charity that is incredibly close to our family's heart.

Parkinson’s is the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world — and currently, there is no cure. Over 145,000 people in the UK are living with the condition right now. Parkinsons affects everyone differently and while the physical challenges are tough for those suffering, the emotional and mental toll is just as great — both for those living with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.

Parkinson’s UK is leading the charge in groundbreaking research to find better treatments — and ultimately, a cure. They also provide vital support and information for people living with Parkinson’s and their families.

If you’re able to donate, big or small, I’d really appreciate it. Every penny helps to make change to the future of Parkinson’s and those it impacts 💙
