Why I'm fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I’m taking part in Walk for Parkinson’s 100 Mile Challenge to help fund specialist care for people with Parkinson’s.
I'm uniting with thousands of others, all passionate about improving life for people with Parkinson’s.
Also as many of you will know, my mum has Parkinson's and has done for nearly 20years. There have been lots of ups but also massive downs, especially over the last couple of years. In the ups it's clear medication is helping, but in the downs, it becomes clear from the professionals that medication needs to be tweaked. Getting professional help from Parkinson's team, can be hard due to their work demand.
Also it become clear that Parkinson's is a progressive and aggressive disease effecting people in different ways and at different rates.
So I'm doing the walk again to raise many to not only support the research into Parkinson's and medication to help those with it maintain as much function as possible, but also to help fund more nurses who give practical advice and support.
I know there any numerous other charities close to everyone's hearts, so there is no pressure to support, but if you can spare even a £1, as the saying goes 'every little helps'

Thursday 7th May One week in, and not clocked as many miles as I would have liked. But a lovely weekend spent with mum and dad. Mum was moving ok, but speech slurred at times and rash back. They have tweaked her medication again, but all is one big balancing act. So even more reason to keep walking ShareThank you to my sponsors
