The Why

Sunday 19th Apr
At the end of last year my Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, after gradual changes noted over the last 2 years. Unfortunately earlier NHS assessments didn’t put the symptoms together, but we were very grateful for answers and signposting.

Since the diagnosis and starting medication my Dad’s quality of life has improved; however it has been a massive adjustment for the whole family to come to terms with the diagnosis and understand all of the information. Specialist support from the Parkinsons Nurses and local organisations has been invaluable.

There are times on this journey that you feel totally helpless and this is just a small thing I can do to continue the support available for my parents and other families out there living with this disease.
