Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I have chosen to take part in the Great South Run again this year so I can raise money and support Parkinson's UK. The last time I took part in this run it was just before I fell pregnant with my beautiful little boy. Since then I have taken a knock in physical health. Taking part in this run is to achieve two things; raising money for a very important charity and to prove to myself I can still complete this distance. Parkinsons affects so many people all over the world and so many people feel the effects; whether you are suffering from parkinsons yourself or watching someone you love learn to live with this disease. I have seen the effects it can have on someone and their life and want to do something to help support a positive change for all those diagnosed. If you can donate anything I am so grateful, even if its just a penny. It all adds up.I am looking forward to sharing my training journey with you all.
My updates
My Training
Sunday 30th JunI have been using the last couple of months to begin my training for the great south run. I have started slow and am gradually building up. Each month starting from May I have been signing up for Race At Your Own Pace. This is a site where you set your goal each month and gain a medal at the end to mark the achievement. May I set the goal of 10 miles throughout the month and achieved 11.24 miles and June I set a goal of 25 miles and achieved 33.2 miles (still waiting on medal). July I have set a goal of 35 miles and August 50 miles. This is a mixture of running and walking miles to help build up to the 10 miles in one hit that I will be completing in October.
Cannot wait to continue to share my progress
