Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
My Grandad passed away in April 2024, he'd lived with Parkinson's for 17 years. Grandad was like all Grandads: calm, kind, and inspiring. Grandad was a sportsman to his core, and in 1984, Grandad ran the London Marathon. He has inspired me to do the same.
So this is my journey to the London Marathon in memory of Grandad, which starts with the Yorkshire Marathon in October 2024 and the Manchester Marathon in April 2025. But this journey is not about me, it is about the estimated 153,000 people in the UK living with Parkinson's, and the support and research investing in improving their lives, and the investment and research into one day finding a cure.
I'm not going to lie - the challenge I've set myself is pretty daunting, but I am so grateful for you're help, encouragement and support. All money raised will help fund breakthroughs and help support the Parkinson's community.
Go well.
Ben
