Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

In April 2026, I’ll be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon, and I’m proud to be running in support of Parkinson’s UK - a cause that means a great deal to me.

Six years ago, my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at 49 years old, since then I’ve seen firsthand the challenges this condition brings for someone on a daily basis. It’s a reminder of how important support, research, and awareness truly are. That’s why I’ve decided to run and raise money for Parkinson’s UK, a charity working hard to fund groundbreaking research and provide vital support for those affected.

What is Parkinson’s?

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement and coordination. It can cause tremors, stiffness, and other symptoms that gradually worsen over time. There’s currently no cure, but with more research and better support, there is hope for a brighter future — and Parkinson’s UK is leading that charge.

There are around 166,000 people living with Parkinson’s in the UK, and one in 37 people will be diagnosed in their lifetime. With your support, we can help change the future of Parkinson’s for thousands of families — including mine.

Thank you for taking time to read this.
