Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK


After 12 years of failed entries to the London Marathon Ballot, I have decided to run for a charity. 

I have been lucky enough to gain a place with Parkinson’s UK. Although my dad was not diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, he suffered for many years from Parkinsonism and for that reason, this charity means a lot. 

I will be running the full 26.2 miles in memory of the most loving dad I could have wished for and hope that you will support me in raising money.

Another big week of marathon training done!

Sunday 11th Oct
Today I ran my longest distance yet - 21.22km in 1:58:13!

Also got some decent interval work in this week, including 3 x 2km at around 4:39/km. Slowly getting there but there's still plenty of work to do before London!

6 weeks in. 75 miles in the legs!!

I've been training for the 2027 London Marathon for six weeks now, with just over 30 weeks to go until what will be the biggest challenge of my life.

This week has been my biggest week of training so far - just over 28 miles across 4 runs, with today's 10 mile run being my longest yet.

I'm running for Parkinson's UK in memory of my Dad, with a £2,300 fundraising target.

There's still a hell of a lot of miles to come before London, but I'm enjoying the challenge and feeling good!!

Silent Disco Fundraising evening

The marathon training is underway, but it’s not just about the running - I need to raise as much as possible for Parkinson’s UK too.

First run since finding out I’ll be running the 2027 TCS London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK!

It’s going to be a long road (literally 😂, but I’m determined to give it everything and hopefully raise as much money as possible for such an important cause.
