Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
My uncle Dessie developed Parkinson's at an early age (39) and has been living with it now for nearly thirty years. I have also lost a dear family friend due to Parkinson's, so know what pains this horrible disease can bring.
Your mum, son or friend. Anyone can get Parkinson’s, young or old. Every hour, two more people are diagnosed.
There are over 40 symptoms. Tremor. Pain. Anxiety. Everyone’s experience is different. And there’s no cure. Yet.
That’s why I’m fundraising for Parkinson’s UK. With your help we can fund better care, drive research breakthroughs and one day find a cure.
We are the Parkinson’s community. We can shape Parkinson’s research. We can transform lives. Together we can find a cure.
To raise some funds for this very worthwhile charity I have decided to run the Belfast city Marathon in 2025, hopefully you can spare some cash to help support this great charity and my marathon challenge.
Many thanks
Andrew
