Great North Run 2026

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

This year I’ll be taking on the Great North Run to raise money for Parkinson's UK - a charity that is very close to my heart, as my Grandma lives with Parkinson’s disease every day.

Parkinson’s is a condition that can completely change day-to-day life, bringing both good days and difficult ones. Seeing the impact the condition can have, both on the person and the people around them, is one of the reasons I wanted to do something meaningful to support the charity and help raise awareness.

By running this year’s Great North Run, I want to help raise awareness, support vital research, and contribute towards the incredible work being done to support people living with Parkinson’s.

Running is already a big part of my life, so this challenge is about putting that passion towards something meaningful and hopefully making a small difference along the way.

Any donation, no matter the size, would mean a lot. Thank you so much for your support!
