Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I’m taking part in Walk for Parkinson’s 100 Mile Challenge to help fund specialist care for people with Parkinson’s.
In 2011 my little dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. After losing my mam a year earlier this really wasn’t the news that we wanted or needed. Dad took this in his stride and carried on as best he could, we had a major set back with the normal meds given for Parkinson’s and he was put forward for a trial with the duadopa pump which was a massive step forward. Fast forward to 2023/2024 things started to take a turn for the worst with many falls and numerous hospital stays dad was finally accepted for DBS surgery in November 2024. I will forever be proud of this man so I want to do something to give back to Parkinson’s Uk by helping to raise some funding and raise awareness on Parkinson’s! Any help would be greatly appreciated 🖤💙
