Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2027

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2027!

I'll be running the Edinburgh Marathon Festival in May 2027 as part of Team Parkinson's in memory of my granddad, who passed away from Parkinson's in 2023.

Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition caused by the loss of nerve cells that produce dopamine, affecting movement and many aspects of daily life. Around 166,000 people in the UK are currently living with Parkinson's, and that number is continuing to rise.

Any support, whether through a donation or by sharing this page, is hugely appreciated. Thank you for helping Parkinson's UK continue its vital work.

About Parkinson's UK

We’re close to major breakthroughs. Funding the right research into the most promising treatments, we get closer to a cure every day.

Until then, we're here for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. Fighting for fair treatment and better services.

People with Parkinson’s, scientists and supporters, fundraisers and families, carers and clinicians, all working side by side. Impatient for change, we’re taking a stand, speaking out, chipping in, and playing our part.
