Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page and for supporting my journey to the 2027 TCS London Marathon in aid of Parkinson’s UK.

My mum died from Parkinson’s in 2001.

At the time, I was too young to truly understand what Parkinson’s was or the impact it had on her every single day. I watched the disease slowly take away parts of the person I loved, without realising the physical, emotional and mental battle she was facing.

As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to understand that Parkinson’s is so much more than a tremor. It can affect movement, speech, sleep, mental health and independence. It doesn’t just change the life of the person living with it,  it changes the lives of everyone who loves them.

I’m running this marathon in memory of my mum, but also for every family living with Parkinson’s today. I want to help raise awareness, improve understanding and support the incredible work that Parkinson’s UK does to fund research, provide vital support and give hope for the future.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help make a difference. If my story encourages even one person to learn more about Parkinson’s or helps another family feel less alone, then every mile I run will have been worth it.

Thank you for your kindness, your support and for helping me honour my mum’s memory.
