Hi I am Amanda,
In 2027, I'll be taking part in the London Marathon to raise money for Parkinson's UK.
I live with young onset Parkinson's, and while it brings challenges every day, it doesn't define who I am or what I can achieve. Running a marathon with Parkinson's won't be easy, but every step I take is a step towards raising awareness, challenging misconceptions and supporting the incredible work of Parkinson's UK.
If you live in Brighton and Hove look out for me training in my Blue Tutu and on Marathon day itself (Sunday 25th April). I am hoping it will make people smile and also start conversations about Parkinson's. Every mile is an opportunity to raise awareness - one person every twenty minutes is diagnosed with this life changing condition for which there is currently no cure or way of slowing down progression.
I am running for everyone living with Parkinson's, for the families and friends who support them, and for the hope that one day there will be better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
If you can please support my journey. Every donation, no matter the size, will help Parkinson's UK provide vital support, fund groundbreaking research and campaign for a better future for everyone affected by Parkinson's.
