Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
My Grampy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 13 years ago. It’s hard to remember what he was like before this terrible disease took over. Parkinson’s hasn’t just affected him physically, it’s slowly taken away so much of the man we all knew and loved. Watching someone you love change like that is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
That’s why I’ll be running the 2027 TCS London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK.
I’m not just running for my Grampy but also for my Nanny, who has shown unbelievable strength caring for him over the years, and for every family who is living through the same heartbreak. Parkinson’s affects so many people, but with more research, better treatments and support, we can help make a difference.
Running 26.2 miles will be one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever taken on, but it doesn’t compare to the challenges my Grampy and our family have faced over the last 13 years.
If you’re able to support me with a donation, no matter how big or small, I’d be so grateful. Every penny raised will help Parkinson’s UK continue their incredible work supporting families like mine and funding research into better treatments and, hopefully one day, a cure.
