Parkinson’s UK London Marathon Fundriaser for my Dad

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK on Saturday 24 April in support of my Dad, who has been suffering for over 10 years now (11 at the time of the race). We would really appreciate your support! 

My Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in February of 2016 when he was in his early 40s. Parkinson's is more than just a tremor or a shake. It’s a progressive condition that affects movement, balance, sleep, and practically every aspect of everyday life. Watching someone you love face these challenges is difficult, and it has shown me how important it is to help raise awareness and how important the intensive research and support is that goes into the charity. This incurable disease has taken an unbelievable toll on Dad’s day-to-day life, having to give up his job, favourite hobbies, cars and more. No matter how hard a day Dad is having or how awful he may be feeling he still always manages to be the most cheery person in the room and always goes out the house with an inspirational cheery attitude and outlook on everything he does.  

That’s why I’m taking on the London Marathon in support of Parkinson’s UK. Every kilometre I (hopefully) run is for my dad and for the thousands of families who are in the same situation as us and live with Parkinson’s every day. 

My goal is to raise over £2,300 to help fund vital research and into better treatments and, one day, a cure while still supporting those who currently live with the disease.
