Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
This October, I'll be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Parkinson's UK in memory of my dad.
My dad lived with Parkinson's for over ten years before he sadly passed away last year. Before Parkinson's, he loved sport and was always active. He was the person who encouraged me to get involved in sport growing up, and this year I've rediscovered that love of being active. Running this half marathon feels like a fitting way to honour him.
This will be my first ever half marathon, so 13.1 miles is going to be a real challenge. Every step will be for my dad and everyone affected by Parkinson's.
I'm hoping to raise £350 for Parkinson's UK to support their vital research and the incredible work they do for people living with Parkinson's and their families.
