Why we are fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! We're taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support.
Our lovely dad passed away just over two years ago as a result of complications linked to his Parkinson’s Disease.
Slowly this disease robbed him of the things he loved doing - especially walking and golfing.
Following our Mum’s stroke, Dad also took on the role of full time carer - not easy on an island with no care support. He devoted everything to caring for Mum in the island community they loved. This was a considerable task which he carried out with a determined pride and stoicism.
As his Parkinson’s progressed, every day must have felt like a marathon.
We run this race for Dad and to help support Parkinson’s UK in finding a cure.
