Great North Run 2025

Why we are running for Parkinson's UK

Your mum, son or friend. Anyone can get Parkinson’s, young or old. Every hour, two more people are diagnosed.

There are over 40 symptoms. Tremor. Pain. Anxiety. Everyone’s experience is different. And there’s no cure. Yet.

That’s why we are fundraising for Parkinson’s UK. With your help we can fund better care, drive research breakthroughs and one day find a cure.

We are the Parkinson’s community. We can shape Parkinson’s research. We can transform lives. Together we can find a cure.

2025 Great North Run - Our Story

On the 7th September 2025 we will be running the Great North Run for Parkinson's UK. Whilst we have done a lot of running together over the past few years we want to support this fantastic charity which is very close to our hearts.

Two years ago my mum (Reece's Grandmother) was diagnosed with Parkinson's. Whilst this is controlled by medication, there is currently no cure and around 153,000 people live with Parkinson's in the UK. It is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world.

We will therefore be running the world's largest half marathon, along with 60,000 others, through the streets of Newcastle to South Shields.

We would therefore be incredibly grateful if you could dig deep and give whatever you can. Any money raised will make a huge difference as every pound and penny helps bring real breakthroughs closer for people with Parkinson's.
