TCS London Marathon Saturday 2027

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

🏃‍♂️ I’m running the 2027 TCS London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK on Saturday 24 April and I’d really love your support. 💙

This is a challenge that means so much more to me than simply running 26.2 miles.

My reason for choosing Parkinson’s UK is deeply personal. I watched my dad live with Parkinson’s disease for more than 17 years before he sadly passed away. During those years, I saw first-hand the devastating impact Parkinson’s can have — gradually taking away his independence, his mobility and so much of the quality of life that we all take for granted. Sadly, the illness also contributed to other health complications which ultimately led to his death.

What I also learned through my dad’s experience is that Parkinson’s is about far more than the tremors and mobility problems that most people associate with the disease.

There are many hidden symptoms that can have a huge impact on everyday life, as well as the difficulties and side effects that can come with some of the medications used to manage the condition. It affects not just the person diagnosed, but their family, friends and everyone who cares about them.

Having watched my dad live with Parkinson’s for so many years, I know how important it is that research continues.

That’s why I’ve chosen to take on the London Marathon in his memory and raise money for Parkinson’s UK.

I hope that the money I raise can help support vital research into more effective treatments in the future.

💙 Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help me get closer to my fundraising target and, more importantly, help support people affected by Parkinson’s.

If my dad’s 17-year battle with Parkinson’s taught me anything, it’s that we cannot take our health and independence for granted.

So, every mile of those 26.2 miles will be for him.

If you’re able to make a donation, I would be incredibly grateful. And if you can’t donate, simply sharing my fundraising page could help me reach someone who can.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for supporting me in memory of my dad. ❤️
