Running our first half marathon for Parkinson’s UK
Rhys and I are taking on our first ever half marathon to raise money for Parkinson’s UK — a charity that means a huge amount to us personally.
Rhys’ dad has lived with Parkinson’s since he was in his 20s, so it’s something that has been part of their family’s life for many years. Although it has never stopped him, a couple of years ago, he underwent Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), which has changed his life completely!
Parkinson’s UK has played an important role in supporting research, improving understanding of Parkinson’s and helping make advances in treatments such as DBS possible. Seeing first-hand the difference that treatment can make has made us want to give something back and help support the charity’s work for other people and families living with Parkinson’s.
So, we’re swapping our comfort zones for 13.1 miles and hoping to raise as much as we can along the way! 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♂️
Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much to us and will help Parkinson’s UK continue supporting people affected by Parkinson’s and funding research into better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
Thank you so much for supporting us! 💙
