Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Friday 12th JunMy dad, Paul Smith, was diagnosed with Parkinsons in 2004 and we lived with it for 22 years. Dad sadly passed away in January of this year.
He was the best dad and Grampy to my 3 boys even throughout his struggles. He was loyal and loving to his friends and family.
My mum & dad walked for his fitness every day, enjoying walks in the countryside with their dog Annie. In 2017 he had a DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation) implant which improved his Parkinsons symptoms, something we were always grateful for.
I am walking in the Walk for Parkinsons: Bristol in July, along with my mum, to raise money to help fund research into Parkinsons, to improve treatment and medication, to develop ways to halt the decline and perhaps find a cure.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated towards this amazing charity.
Thank you so much,
Lorna
